Why are the measurement results different between my left and right ear?
The Ear canals in the left and right ear in each person are different. Therefore, the measurement results will be different. Also, the temperature can vary from the left to right ear because of the amounts of dirt or earwax present or due to individual variations.
Please note the position of the probe tip during measurement can have an influence on the results. It is very important to straighten the ear canal and insert the probe tip comfortably and completely in the ear canal to ensure accuracy.
Normally, the measurement results are with 1°F differences between the left and right ear. Some persons even have 2+°F differences. However, there are even fewer persons with the same measurement results between the left and right ear.
