Before Taking A Measurement

1. Sit quietly for about 10 minutes without talking or moving. This will allow your body to return to its normal, resting state.

2. Wait 30-45 minutes before taking a measurement if you've consumed any caffeinated beverages or smoked any cigarettes or cigars.

3. For consistency, try to take your blood pressure using the same wrist, we suggest the left.

4. Sit with your legs uncrossed and your feet flat on the floor. Do not touch the cuff or monitor while measuring.

5. Wait at least 3 minutes in between measurements.

Applying The Cuff

1. Make sure you are not wearing a thick coat or a sweater. If you're wearing a long sleeved shirt, roll up the sleeve so it's not constricting circulation to your arm.

2. Wrap the cuff around your wrist making sure that it's not too tight.

3. Lie your arm flat on a table with your palm facing upwards with the monitor facing you. Hold the wrist cuff so it's at the same level as your heart.
Taking A Measurement

1. Once the cuff is properly positioned and you are seated with your feet flat on the floor, you are ready to take a measurement.

2. Press the start/stop button. The monitor will automatically inflate to the level that is right for you.

3. You will feel the cuff get tighter around your wrist - this is normal. It should not inflate to the point of discomfort. If this occurs, the cuff is secured too tightly. Press start/stop and rewrap the cuff leaving more room between your wrist and the cuff.

4. Numbers will appear on the digital display. This is the normal process the monitor goes through to determine your blood pressure. Don't be alarmed if you notice the numbers quickly change, or go higher than you believe your blood pressure to be.

5. When your measurement is complete, the monitor will deflate automatically, releasing the air pressure in the cuff.

6. The entire measurement process should take less than a minute. Once measurement is complete, the display will flash between your blood pressure and pulse measurements.

Note: Your blood pressure may constantly change during the course of a day. High or low readings do not necessarily mean your monitor is malfunctioning or that you are ill. It is important to speak with your doctor to learn what your normal blood pressure is and also if you experience related abnormal measurements.
8 Measurement Memory

When you take a measurement, the monitor automatically stores it in memory space number one. As you continue to take measurements, the monitor will push the previous measurement back one space. In other words, the value in space one will always be the most recent blood pressure measurement taken. Your monitor will store up to 8 measurements.
